La Palma, the Spanish Island that offers historic towns, verdurous forests, and authentic atmosphere, quickly becomes a place that makes you want to come back, even before you’ve left. Home to incredible landscapes, imposing volcanoes, dense forests, unique beaches, and star scattered skies, this island in its entirety is a World Biosphere Reserve and is justly named ‘La Isla Bonita’ (the Pretty Island).
La Palma is a world-renowned starlight reserve. After Hawaii, it is one of the world’s best places to see the stars which attracts scientists from all over the world to come and study the universe from La Palma. To arrive at night and see the sky filled with stars creates an unforgettable welcome.
Our adventure in La Palma, begins in the capital, Santa Cruz de La Palma, which has a laid-back vibe and is so charming that many say it feels more like a town than the capital. The many colonial-era buildings along the sandy beachfront and the wooden balconies overflowing with flowers, let the visitor know why the island is called “La Isla Bonita”.
