Tenerife, the largest island is dominated by often snowy active volcano Mt. Teide, which has its own astronomical observatory and is part of Teide National Park. This route takes you along various eco-systems and amazing landscapes. On this route we will observe the different eco-systems and flora depending on the altitude, as well as the human integration with the natural landscape. The panoramic views of the mountain range are truly spectacular. We will follow the route to arrive to the village of Taganana. From the Bolico peaks we will see one of the most outstanding views of the Teide, La Gomera , and Santiago valley. The route starts in the lost hamlet descending by the ravine. This ravine is located in one of the oldest volcanic massifs in Tenerife. We will see the impressive canyon walls surpassing the 600 meters high, as well as the peculiar flora and fauna. The route will finish in the mouth of the ravine, where we can enjoy a refreshing bath in the volcanic black sandy beach. From there a boat will take us to Puerto Santiago, during the crossing we will be able to see the impressive views of the Acantilados de los Gigantes. The Ifonche Circuit is one of the most impressive walks in the south of Tenerife. The walk follows old goat herder tracks to the rural hamlet, where you can take in the beautiful scenery of protected natural space before returning via farm tracks along the side of a deep gorge known as Barranco del Rey. This walk affords us excellent views of La Gomera and Costa Adeje, from Puerto Colon to Callao Salvaje. This is one of the most spectacular examples of volcanoes in the world, and the outstanding flora includes a large percentage of endemic species and the fauna a great number of exclusive species. We will be able to enjoy striking panoramic views of the Teide as well as other volcanoes. El Teide – Mount Teide is the highest summit in Spain at an altitude of 3,718 meters. This dormant volcano is situated in the National Park in the center of the island of Tenerife. The park contains a wide variety of cones and domes, lava flows and caves that form a spectacular range of colors and forms. We gather tonight for our farewell dinner in the elegant dining hall of our hotel. But before we say our final goodnight, join us on the patio with our Astronomer for a star gazing session under the spectacular star filled Tenerife sky.
